I know Zaurus palm pilots are linux based. I was wondering if anyone knew any blind person who got them running with speach? I'm looking into running openBSD on one, and setting it up with emacs speak, flite, yasr etc. Unfortionatly I'm a student, and can't justify spending the about $700 to $800 to buy one of these for something that may not work. Does anyone know a way to get grants in order to do this kind of stuff? If I did get it working I'd make the information available to the public of course, and depending on time get a nice install program. This could really be a good way to make mainstream PDA's accessible to blind users, running completely on open source.
